Two weeks after his podium in the Master Series, Dorian Boccolacci showed his competitiveness again on the circuit of Sarno in the WSK Euro Series by taking his first victory of the year at this level. Race by race, his competitors are finding it hard to keep up with this young French driver, who has achieved the feat of being among the protagonists, every time. He is now a step closer to winning the championship of the 2013 WSK continental series.
In the 8 races entered so far in KF, Dorian has just conquered his 4th victory after climbing six times in a row onto the podium. The Lotus F1 Junior Team driver's regularity in the lead of the elite category of international karting is really impressive at this beginning of season. The best drivers try at each meeting to counter his superiority, but no one has been as successful as he has in combining performances and regularity in the lead pack. Each time Dorian knows how to exploit at best the potential of his official Energy/TM and increases his lead in the WSK Euro Series provisional classification, so much so that now he has very good chances of conquering the title with 161 points overall, 71 points more than his direct pursuer Karol Basz.
His status as favourite for victory has made him the target of his opponents, all united to stop his triumphal march by placing him in situations which are not always easy. But Dorian has never caved in to this very high pressure and has remained focussed on his only goal: victory! He never takes anything for granted in competitions, but this driver from Equipe de France FFSA Karting has shown so far a huge talent that deserves, more than anyone else, to be rewarded.
Poleman in his group already in timed qualifying on the long circuit of Sarno, near Naples, Dorian kept his advantage by concluding the SuperPole KF with a second place. In the qualifying heats, he had to face a double threat posed by Martin Kodric and Felice Tiene, who is an experienced driver and winner of the 2012 World Cup and who does not always appreciate to be outperformed by a young rookie. Second after this qualifying phase, Dorian was second in the pre-final too, behind Nicklas Nielsen, while his usual rivals started to let go. In the final, Dorian immediately took the lead leaving the other challengers to fight among themselves for the places of honour. He crossed the finish line with a lead of over 4 seconds and took his first victory of the year in the WSK Euro Series, the most important competition preceding the European and World Championships, which will mark the peak of the second part of the season.
Dorian is currently the leader of the WSK Euro Series, of the WSK Master Series and of the German Championship. A big thank you to Michele Panigada's Energy Corse Team, to Luigina and Simone - the technicians who support him- to the TM company and to his engine mechanic Gordon, from GFR.
