A personalised coaching specialist, David Zollinger offers complete solutions for young karters who want to prepare for the move to cars. Graduated and recognized by the highest national sports bodies, steeped in experience and a with a lively communicative dynamism, the founder of Driving Koncept (with a K to distinguish itself) has many strengths that enable him to fulfil his mission to advance enthusiastic drivers.
David Zollinger's talent is driver training. He has years in a race seat, during which he built a good track record in sports car and prototype racing with several national and European titles, and he has continued driving which allows him to take the lead on track with his "students". But he also developed his taste for teaching the fundamentals of driving and validated his expertise by getting first the BPJEPS and, what is rarer, a double circuit and karting DEJEPS, diplomas that guarantee his seriousness.
"Nobody is born with talent as a driver. It is above all a question of motivation and work, because driving is not a matter of courage, but of technique". This statement of faith reveals David Zollinger's passion for the technical aspects. "Lines, braking, load transfers and heel-toe cannot just be made up! When learning about situations with the right approach, you can go much further".
Based at the Ledenon circuit, Driving Koncept relies on the infrastructure of the Palmyr team to give the drivers more than 60 days per year, running a fleet of 45 cars (Formula Ford, Formula Renault 2.0, Norma prototype and Caterham). In depth sessions on the track are joined by the study of data acquisition, analysis of car set-up, and also theuse of video and the driving simulator, so everyone's ambitions are catered for. "Every driver is a special case. I very much like to understand the personal needs of my students to give them what they really need, while practice remains the core of training," says David.
Many drivers have used David Zollinger's expertise. Recently, Pierre Gasly, Andrea Pizzitola, Matthew Vaxivière and Anthoine Hubert have spent time with Driving Koncept for a few hours, a few days, or more, as have the Swiss drivers Matheo Tuscher and Fabien Thuner. For some, the relationship continues over time, progressing to management; this is the case, for example, with John Filippi who will start this season in the WTCC under the watchful eye of David Zollinger.
"We now demand a lot from the young drivers who start car racing," says David. "They are generally not trained to respond to these big expectations in a very short time. How many careers end, with failing results, after one or two years in car racing? I am confident that with proper preparation, the transition from karting to cars would be much more productive, regardless of the ultimate objective of the driver. Driving Koncept is there to give these young people what they need to build their future in motorsport".
Last but not least, the Driving Koncept organisation enables it to bring personal benefits at a very reasonable cost, with efficiency coming from experience and guaranteed professionalism. For more information, contact David Zollinger directly!
