June has just begun and Dorian Boccolacci has already conquered his first title of the 2013 season by winning the WSK Euro Series, a high-level international championship consisting of four meetings. This young driver from Equipe de France FFSA Karting, who was already the leader after the second round in Spain, has remained focussed up to the closing meeting, last weekend in Belgium, where he faced the best drivers of the world, very often more experienced than he is.
Dorian found in Energy Corse the perfect partner to consolidate his reputation and conquer the victories his talent deserves. Very well supported by the TM company and by his engine mechanic GFR, he can also rely on the technical know-how of Simone and Luigina Guerrini for his kart set-up. In just a few months, the Lotus F1 Junior Team driver has passed from promising to proven in KF, the class of the great tradition of karting where the greatest champions of the last fifty years have emerged.
At this level of competition, the technical battle has nothing to envy to hard fights on track. Every weekend, major official or private European teams show all their know-how from practice to the final race, in every possible condition. Development work on karts has key importance and requires a perfect assessment of the situation on the part of drivers. In this field too, Boccolacci has proven to be impressive in terms of effectiveness, something that always enables him to get the most of whatever he does in competitions.
Another strong point of this driver from the Var region is his ability to overtake every time he needs to, which enables him to make up for any decline in his kart performances or incidents during the race. Thanks to this ability, he has been able to score some important points at each meeting with extraordinary regularity. Dorian's competitors have alternated since March to try and take his place as leader, but to no use.
This dominant position was fruitful on the circuit fo Genk, last weekend. Dorian focussed his efforts on the first part of the meeting and set the fastest time in his group and then the third time in SuperPole. Thanks to two victories in four heats, he fulfilled his goal by winning the pre-final and overcoming all the obstacles with great ability. A 4th place in the final race was enough for him to conquer his first title of the year, that of the famous WSK Euro Series.
The season is now about to reach its peak, with the forthcoming European CIK-FIA Championship in Spain, on the circuit of Motorland Aragon. Work has already started, since the team tested different set-ups at the Genk meeting, a token of their full confidence in their driver. Everybody knows that nothing can be taken for granted, and this holds especially true for karting, where the many challenges posed by this discipline are an excellent training ground for future champions in car racing. Dorian Boccolacci has already taken some important steps forward on this very long path.
