That the Lotus F1 Junior Team driver did not fail at his in single-seater debut is the least we can say. The French Vice-Champion and top rookie in F4, Dorian Boccolacci will now move to the next level, competing in the FIA ??European Formula 3 Championship with the Signature team.

"I am not unhappy with my first single seater season!" said the smiling young Dorian. "It was not easy for me because the Auto Sport Academy F4 and its hard tyres did not really suit my style. I had to adapt and I am happy to have finished on a high note at the last race at Le Castellet."

Two wins, six podiums, two pole positions and three fastest laps allowed Dorian win the Junior French Championship and the title of French Vice Champion International in his first year in cars, despite some technical problems during the season. We will remember his podium at the opening race at Le Mans, his double victory at Pau and his magnificent comeback in the last race at Le Castellet, in which his performance outclassed the experienced Champion Lasse Sorensen.

Testing in the higher classes led the Lotus F1 Junior Team to choose in F3 in 2015. Several reasons explain this choice. The victory of Esteban Ocon, also Lotus F1 Junior Team driver, and the results of Max Verstappen who was signed to Formula 1 on the strength of it, have put the spotlight on the fully resurrected FIA ??series. The Lotus F1 Junior Team and Team Signature have developed a privileged relationship, as another Lotus driver, Alexander Albon, will race alongside Dorian. Philippe Sinault's team entered F3 during the 2014 season and their ambitions for 2015 are clearly displayed.

The winter tests, which took place in various weather conditions, have shown the potential of the French team's F3 Dallara with a Volkswagen engine and the Dorian's rapid acclimatization to his new environment. There is no doubt that the category is better suited to the incisive driving of the young French hope. In any case it is a great opportunity for him to increase his experience by racing against the many experienced drivers racing in the European F3 Championship with a quality entry.

"After only one year of single seaters in F4, like Alexander I tried F3. The initial tests made me take a huge step! I feel good in the team, there is great cohesion and good morale. I look forward to taking the wheel of the Dallara F3 very soon, to improve my performance before learning the major international circuits," Dorian said last December.
